Kids' Church
At Crosslight our mission is to “make and mature disciples of Jesus for God’s glory” and this applies to our children as well so that they may “shine like stars in the sky as they hold firmly to the word of life” (Philippians 2:15,16).
Our Programs
At Crosslight our mission is to “make and mature disciples of Jesus for God’s glory” and this applies to our children as well so that they may “shine like stars in the sky as they hold firmly to the word of life” (Philippians 2:15,16).
To help children grow to love Jesus and be a “light “ for Him, Kid’s church runs in conjunction with our Sunday 10:00am service at both Peakhurst and Mortdale and runs for toddlers through to Year 8 at school.
Each age group has an element of Bible teaching, prayer, games, craft, and songs pitched at the age and stage of the children, so as to engage their hearts and minds with the good news of Jesus.
We aim to provide through our programs an excellent Bible overview by the end of Primary School. The majority of our teaching material from prep to Year 5 is based on the CEP (Christian Education Publications) material.
Our Year 6-8 program, builds on foundational truths to help teach, train and equip our teens to be ready for the journey of life ahead. It is a space where they can ask tough questions and explore what the Bible has to say about the challenges of living for Jesus in today’s modern world.
Is there a creche for babies?
We understand that babies make noise and we are more than happy for babies to be with us in church. However if you need to comfort and soothe your baby away from the main service, there is a creche room for mothers and babies at Mortdale, where you can still hear and see the service, or you are welcome to bring your baby with you up to our 1-5yr “Sparkles” room at Peakhurst.
Allergy Aware
As there are a number of children in our community with allergies. We ask that you do not bring any nut products to church. Morning tea is provided for children (and adults) at both Peakhurst and Mortdale at the end of our 10:00am services
Safe Ministry
The Anglican Church in Sydney is serious about keeping children safe in churches. All Kids' Church volunteers and staff must complete a Working With Children Check and undergo Safe Ministry Training.
